New Indiana Senior Living Community Opening in 2011

As the number of elderly residents continues to grow in the United States, so do the number of elderly who need various types of senior housing. Therefore new senior communities are popping up across the U.S., and developer Leo Brown Group is part of this movement in Indiana. They just closed financing and started the construction on a new senior living community called Park Place Senior Living. The new senior living community is being built in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and has a number of components to the project. Included in the senior community is a 76 unit assisted living facility, a 40 unit memory care wing catering towards Alzheimer’s patients, and 24 independent living units. There will be a total of six buildings in the 20 acre senior community which is situated very close to Parkview Regional Medical Center to compliment the hospital. Parkview Regional Medical Center is currently undergoing a $500 million expansion at Dupont Road and Interstate 69 which is expected to be complete in 2012.

The entire area is improving, as Leo Brown Group sold another property near the Park Place Senior Living campus to make way for another senior project. Construction is already underway on the 130 bed nursing facility which will have sections that focus on people who require short-term rehab therapy prior to returning to their home. Every year more seniors are retiring in this region, and these types of projects are key to sustaining the growth in seniors needing a community to reside.
